Henrique Oliveira

Henrique Oliveira - a São Paulo based artist – is on my current ‘Favorites’ list. His art work is a colorful tour de force that will cheer you up every time you see it. Forget about seasonal affective disorder – just immerse yourself in his bright world and everything will be alright.

One of the things I like the most about Henrique is that his work is very playful and even seems to have a life of its own – every angle holds a special surprise for you! Plus he uses salvaged wood from the streets of São Paulo to create these beautiful installations that look like artful flowing rivers – a total winning combo!

I really hope that soon his work will make it all the way to Vancouver so we can bathe in his talent  - if not I’ll just have to plan a trip to Brazil, easy! Right?

For this weekend’s post I have included some of his wonderful paintings (along with some colour/palette inspiration) as well as some pictures of his fantastic installations. Don’t forget to visit Henrique Oliveira’s site to see his extensive collection – just be careful, it’s addictive. Henrique, all I can say about your art is: que coisa mais linda!

OH! One last thing, remember to enter the Artful Giveaway! Today’s the last day so go get’er done.

Happy weekend desperados!
